FAQ

Tapestries and Textiles

What type of textile is used for the tapestries?

Each tapestry is made from woven Jacquard cotton. This high-quality textile offers both durability, fine detail, and visual richness, allowing the nuances of the original artwork to be faithfully reproduced.

How are the tapestries designed?

Each tapestry is the result of a precise and collaborative process, combining traditional textile craftsmanship with contemporary technologies. Based on one of my original watercolor drawings, the artwork is interpreted and translated thread by thread on a Jacquard loom. Many hours of preparation and weaving are required to bring each piece to life, ensuring a careful execution that remains faithful to the artistic intent.

How are colors achieved in weaving?

In Jacquard weaving, colors are not printed but constructed.

Each shade is created by blending threads of different colors (red, blue, green, yellow, black, and white). Their interlacing creates subtle and deep variations, giving the tapestry a vivid and textured appearance.

Are the tapestries eco-friendly?

Yes, the manufacturing process prioritizes environmentally friendly methods.

The tapestries are made from 100% cotton, a significant portion of which is recycled cotton. Textile waste generated during production is recovered or reintegrated into the manufacturing cycle to reduce environmental impact.

What is Jacquard weaving?

Jacquard weaving is an innovative textile technique that revolutionized the history of weaving.

It is based on a programmable system that allows each thread to be controlled individually. Originally, this process used punched cards to guide the pattern, making it one of the earliest forms of programming in history. Today, this method makes it possible to translate complex images into woven form, thread by thread, with remarkable precision and visual richness.

Is each tapestry unique?

Yes, each tapestry is a completely unique textile artwork: each original watercolor drawing exists as a single copy and gives rise to one and only one tapestry, with no reproduction (1 drawing = 1 tapestry), ensuring an exclusive piece faithful to the artistic intent.
