Artichoke Man, a journey between flesh and plant. 🌱

A contemporary artwork, Artichoke Man depicts a human body gradually being invaded by artichokes, like an organic blossoming that connects the individual to nature. The plant forms unfold across the body and head, creating a dialogue between the human and the living world.

Artichokes become a path. They symbolize transformation, the expansion of thought, and the profound connection between humankind and the plant world. Between textile and organic, the work evokes the intimate relationship between the human body and the nature that surrounds it, between matter and spirit.

Textile material: Jacquard woven cotton.

Design: Each tapestry is the result of a precise and collaborative process, blending traditional textile expertise with contemporary technologies. Starting from one of my original watercolor drawings, the artwork is interpreted and then translated thread by thread on a Jacquard loom. Many hours of preparation and weaving are required to bring each piece to life.

Eco-responsibility: Manufacturing prioritizes environmentally friendly methods. The tapestries are made of 100% cotton, a significant portion of which is recycled cotton. Textile waste from production is reused or reintegrated into the manufacturing cycle to minimize the ecological footprint.

Uniqueness: Each tapestry is a singular textile work, originating from one of my original watercolor drawings. This artwork is then interpreted and translated into Jacquard weaving, making each piece a unique creation, impossible to reproduce exactly.

Care instructions: To preserve the beauty and condition of your tapestry, clean it carefully (dry cleaning or gentle washing depending on use). Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive humidity, heat, or direct sunlight.

Durability: Designed to last, the tapestry evolves over time. The fibers soften, the material gains depth and patina, gradually revealing the full richness of the weave and the nobility of the textile.
