About

Body of salt, head of sea

I seek to explore the blurred boundary between human and nature, between identity and the universal. The silhouettes stand like silent totems, presences both intimate and anonymous. The face fades to give way to ramifications: branches, corals, roots… These are no longer portraits in the classical sense, but hybrid organisms, where thought becomes vegetal and memory, mineral.

This work rises from the sea, from its breath that sculpts faces and forges characters. In Brittany, the ocean is never far away. It is a constant presence, a force that shapes both body and mind. Waves, storms, and currents leave their mark on silhouettes. These forces resonate with the harshness and beauty of a marine world, where we learn to remain upright, to open ourselves despite the winds, and to breathe in the crashing waves. It is a tribute to oceanic identity and the inner strength born of dialogue with the sea.

Each work belongs to the same family of souls, linked by a common visual genetics: black and white, minimalism, the strength of contrasts, suggestion more than description. Yet, everyone can find themselves in a particular silhouette, as if it reflected a facet of their inner story.

These figures are mirrors: they remind us that we are made of the same currents, the same circulations, the same forces. We are all children of the sea, connected by a common origin, traversed by the same breath.

This work is not a series, nor a project: it is a constellation of possible beings, a silent but vibrant people, connected by the same veins of ink.
